No jeweller had ever paid so much attention to the man's world as Cartier. All three brothers, Louis, Pierre and Jacques, were highly influential in matters of elegance and the art of living. They created a host of refined accessories for men. Cufflinks, cigarette cases and lighters, toiletry bags and other items were produced for decades, specifically aimed at "les dandys", men with a keen sense of style: among others were Boni de Castellane, Jean Cocteau, Truman Capote, and Andy Warhol.
